Boston & Maine 40' Steel Boxcar #76227
This model began as an IMWX kit (excellent and highly detailed, but now out of production). It was properly and carefully built, with air hoses, and coupler cut bar detail added. Kadee couplers and Kadee wheelsets installed.
The kit was custom painted and finished in the large B&M herald, blue & black scheme. Road #76227, with a built date of 12.52 and a new/reweigh date of 9.55. All the lettering is accurate and neatly done. The decal lettering is finely done and virtually indiscernible. Duluth Winnipeg & Pacific Wood 36' Truss Rod Boxcar:
This car started as a wood craftsman kit built about twenty years ago and then rebuilt with additional detail and refinements a few years back. It has had a Cal Scale Westinghouse "K" brake set installed, with rodding and brake line, as well as air hoses, coupler cut bars, Grandt turnbuckles and NBW castings at the truss rod ends. Each of the grabirions has had nbw castings put in place to replicate the original. End braces, door latch hardware and poling pocket braces are some of the scratchbuilt additions.
It has been repainted and lettered #30891 with CDS dry transfer lettering, and moderately weathered. It has also had Central Valley arch bar trucks & Kadee couplers installed and adjusted for reliable, trouble free operation.
There are a few minor blemishes on the roof scribing and rail spike door stops, but despite that, this car is very fine in appearance and in operation for a period model railroad. $95.95 [ Photo 1 ] [ Photo 2 ]

Grand Trunk Pacific 40' Wood Refrigerator Car:
Back about 1969, a magazine called Railmodel (long since gone) ran a series of articles and drawings on older Canadian rolling stock and a company called Canadian Railway Models (also long since gone) produced a series of kits. This car began life as one of those kits.
This car was kit-built once in the early 1980's and then torn apart and virtually scratchbuilt again a few years ago to contest quality detail standards. The car has scale brake rigging, NBW detail, truss rood turnbuckles, air hoses, coupler cut bars, Kadee couplers and wheelsets. It is lettered with CDS dry transfer lettering and has a lightly weathered finish. $79.95 [ Photo 1 ] [ Photo 2 ]

Imperial Oil 10,000 Gal. Double Dome Tank Car #3309:
This model was imported by Overland.
It has been custom painted and lettered for an Imperial Oil company car in the 1932 -1940 period. It has been expertly custom weathered to represent a car in regular use but well mantained. The lettering is a mix of custom produced lettering, CDS dry transfer and Champion and Microscale decals.
The original brass trucks (now tucked away in the box) have been replaced by Kadee self-centering 'Bettendorf' truck frames to which Reboxx wheelsets have been fitted. Sergent exact scale, working, couplers have been mounted.
This is a truly unusual and unique - used in the proper sense of the word - model. The chances of finding another commercially available are between negligible and zero. First, this is the only one I have done, or am likely to do in the foreseeable future. Second, the imported brass model itself is quite rare and rarely comes to market. Third, this particular lettering scheme has never been done commercially and is not likely to be done, either in decals or dry transfer lettering now that CDS has stopped development of new products.
Price: $1,250.00. [Photo 1] [ Photo 2] [Photo 3] [ Photo 4] [Photo 5] [ Photo 6] [ Photo 7] [Photo 8]

Wabash M1 class 2-10-4 #2804:
This brass locomotive was imported by Hallmark and manufactured by Dong Jin in South Korea. It has a very good custom paint job, by the late Ken Baines, in a matte finish. It has a very nice and realistic overall appearance. Lettering is with decals.
The headlight appears to be a clear jewel. A working Kadee has been fitted to the tender.
This model has been used: There are a very few chips in the white paint (on the left side running board and on one driver, as well as some other rub areas on the black, all which would very easily be remedied with a small touch up. It appears to have had a little work done on it to improve its performance. Wheel wear is negligible.
This locomotive has its original box and both the box and the foam are in good condition, though the box has several scuff marks and one corner has been reinforced with tape.
Inside the box is a Hallmark "Protolight", a constant/directional lighting diode which appears to have been installed at one point and then removed.
The latest Brass Model Trains Price & Data Guide gives this model a value of US $450, unpainted.
Our price, mainly because there is not a lot of demand for Wabash items in this part of Ontario, is $350.00. [ Photo 1 ] [ Photo 2 ] [ Photo 3 ] [ Photo 4 ] [ Photo 5 ] [ Photo 6 ]
