TLA Custom Models

Tree Lane's Annex is a boutique hobby shop, just outside Kingston, Ontario.
We offer a range of superb, museum quality models and imported brass models that will appeal to both collectors and operators. While we sometimes have bargains, we don't practice deep discount pricing.
The models on the shelf are mostly of Canadian prototype locomotives and rolling stock, but also on occasion structures, aircraft, vehicles and military miniatures. To see the latest addtions or changes, click here to go to the What's New page.
We also stock some of the commercially produced Canadian (or near to, or often seen in, Canada) roadname locomotives and rolling stock in both HO and N scale. These are models in the Rapido, True Line Trains, Intermountain, Life Like Proto 1000 or 2000, Bachman or other lines. In HO, our focus is mostly pre-1960; In N scale the selection is mostly more modern equipment.
TLA started out as, and still is, a custom modelling service and most of the items on our shelves are custom built from scratch or kitbashed, detailed and finished to meticulous standards.
We also carry a selection of finished and unfinished imported CNR, CPR and Other Lines brass and other superior models, many of which have had refined detailing done and have been mechanically reworked in our own shop for reliable layout operation.
TLA sells Lenz Digital Plus digital command control systems, decoders and components. We can also, with the cooperation of Bonnechere Custom Models, offer Soundtraxx decoders to our customers.
The shop carries a selection of out of the ordinary, quality Kits (Sylvan, Westerfield, F&C, Athabasca, Intermountain), Tools (The Right Clamp, Reboxx Truck Tuner and Precision Wheelsets, Aero-locomotive Works lubricants, Flexi-Files, Etch Mate and other Mission Models items), track and track components that we have found to be reliable and supplies for serious modellers. We also carry a selection of HO scale track and operating layout-related items like Tortoise switch machines.
We are also pleased to carry, on special order, the complete Sherline range of precision machine tools
We also sell Aristo-Craft, some LGB and a few other G Scale trains and track, as well as Kadee G scale couplers.
In addition, TLA occasionally runs across hard to find Books and Other Interesting Items used by prototype Canadian railroads, which strike our fancy and may be of interest to railfans and collectors alike. Also there are a couple of Rhodesia Railways items.
For those who collect - or play war games with - Napoleonic miniatures, we have one exceptional and unique set of the units that participated in the Battle of Nations, at Leipzig in 1813: Napoleon Bonaparte and France against Russia, Prussia, Austria and Sweden. We have also just added three essays of Historex French soldiers by an apprentice, at a special opportunity price that barely covers the cost of the original kits.

We are open Tuesday through Sunday 11:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., by appointment or by chance. (Chances are good most days, but it is always best to call ahead to avoid a wasted drive.) We answer the phone most evenings as well.
