If this offering is anywhere near the quality of Rapido's past models, this is not something to be missed for anyone who wants a really accurate representation of this Canadian railway icon.

At the announced price, it is a bargain compared to past offerings in brass and even (once you count time and additional details involved) for models offered in kit form.

Rapido Steam Generator Units

In the 1990s, I produced flat resin cast kits for the CNR Steam Generator, and custom built them for customers. I think most who bought them agreed that they were as good as, or better than, the Overland brass models that were only available at several hundred dollars each.

I have no compuction whatsoever in saying that these new models from Rapido are better than my kits and at least as good as the models that I custom built and finished over those years.

And, the best thing about them is their price tag: $59.95!

CNR FP9 A & B Units - Intermountain

These units are in the classic Green, Black and Yellow passenger scheme. The A units have DCC and sound, The B units are without DCC or sound.

We have only one each left of the A and B units. A Unit with sound $210.00; B Unit without sound $110.00.

CNR 40' Boxcar - True Line Trains - $39.99

CNR Mavens may find something to criticize in these models.

Most normal, discerning hobbyists, however, are likely to consider these among the most finely detailed and finished ready to run boxcars on the market today.

(All they lack are coupler cut bars, air hoses and Sergent couplers to make them super-outstanding representations of the real thing!)

And, TLT's limited, pre-sold run of these models will make them difficult to find after a while.

We have just received a new shipment of the second run selection of cars, and still have a few of the original run. (If you want a specific car and/or number, please inquire.)

CPR 40' Boxcar - True Line Trains - $35.50

We have received our shipment of the first run of TLT's CPR 1937 AAR 40' Boxcars.

Like the CNR runs, they are many steps above what has heretofore been available.

And, like the CNR runs, all they lack are coupler cut bars, air hoses and Sergent couplers to make them close to nail-on representations of the real thing.

We have sold out of all the plain and the Stepped Block lettering schemes, but there are still several numbers in each of the Script "Canadian Pacific", the "Span's the World" and the CPR Rail Multimark schemes, as well as one in the silver/stainless passenger-baggage scheme.

CNR Wood Caboose - True Line Trains - $40.99

These are, assuredly, very nicely done models. And they have put on the coupler cut bars and air hoses this time around!!

We are carrying only three different versions: The mineral brown without logo, the Morency Orange with tilted logo in white leaf and the Morency Orange with horizontal logo in the white leaf. Only a few numbers of each still available. [photo 1] [photo 2]

CNR/DWC 50' Bulkhead Flat - True Line Trains - $34.99

It used to take a lot of kitbashing, including buying the pieces for the bulkheads from New Zealand, of all places! Now TLT has given modellers a terrific model with only the trouble of taking it out of the box. Four Numbers available: 605000, 605154, 605181, 605203.
