Historex Kits

(Other manufacturers and eras are listed at the bottom of this page)

Historex, I understand, made their castings from a very pure styrene. The pieces came out of the moulds without damage and hold all their fine detail beautifully. Yet, they are still very easy to work.

This makes any of the original Historex kits valuable from a modelling perspective, not just for the models they are meant to represent, but also for all the myriad variations that they can be reworked to represent.

This makes them a true modeller's trove of possibilities.

That is one reason why I have hoarded and have been reluctant to sell them for so long.

But eventually one reaches the conclusion that these are projects that one is never to get around to doing,

So, someone else might better have the opportunity.

The kits listed below are of the original Historex production, in their original clear plastic bag packaging. Unless otherwise noted, items are in unopened, if a mite dusty, condition.

The photos may not be the best because the scanning has been done without opening the package.

Italy - Trompet Royal

Note: This model is of a Trumpeter of the Royal Italian Army that was established by Napoleon. The package is unopened but the colour print that came with most other kits is not included.

I think this is because this is one of the last of the original production items and no colour prints for this model were done, but I cannot be sure.

Historex # 814, @ $21.95

Prussia - Silesian Hussar on Foot, 1815

Note: This model is of a Hussar on foot. The package is unopened but the colour print that came with most other kits is not included.

I think this is because this is one of the last of the original production items and no colour prints for this model were done, but I cannot be sure.

Historex # 805, @ $21.95

Austria - Infantry - Austerlitz 1805

Rifleman/Grenadier option

Note: This model made by a Czech company (Loreta s.r.o.). The casting plastic is not the superior styrene of Historex, but it is not bad. The casting quality is good, at least as good as many of the model kits produced in the U.K. The internal packaging is unopened.

A reasonable way to go if you are interested in reproducing examples of the forced trounced by Napoleon in his glory days.

ARtMI # 001SLA1, @ $24.95

Other Manufacturers' Military Kits
